Women’s Sailing is open to all women in the club. Women sailors get together at 6:00 pm each Monday night in June through August. We gather rain or shine – wind or no wind. Using members’ boats and/or the Club’s Laser 28, a group leader organizes a sail or activities appropriate for the weather conditions. No one is asked to sail beyond her ability or to participate in an uncomfortable activity. Instead, women support women in an atmosphere of fun and encouragement. We urge all club women to join us for this great social and connection time. If we cannot sail, we share snacks and great conversation, motor out to take a swim, or do anything that’s suggested by members of the group. Supportive women help each other practice motoring, anchoring, and anything the group has in mind. The Women’s Sailing group plans activities in addition to the Monday night sails. In past year, they organized a pre-Club Opening Day pedicure party, an overnight to Stave Island, a holiday gathering at a member’s house, a weekend at Seymour Lake in the Northeast Kingdom, and the not-to-be-missed Annual Ladies’ Lawn Party. We are a fun group of women who support each other whatever your sailing experience so please join us. We look forward to great sailing, learning from each other, and spending time together. We look forward to your participation in and support of women's sailing at MBBC! |
