PHRF Meeting                                                 12.13.2004

Meeting called to order 7:23 pm

In Attendance- Tris, Gene, Marty, Chris, John, Tom, Brian

v     Geno made a motion to accept the minutes of the previous meeting. 

Ø      Motion seconded by John.

§         In favor- unanimous

§         Opposed- none

v     We discussed, and all agree that a notice should go out to all the clubs that outlines any boats that are up for review of their ratings.  The clubs will then disseminate that to the members.  It was suggested that we develop a change to the by-laws that addresses this.

v     At the past meeting, the following boats were brought up for discussion.  These boats were reviewed by a committee member who presented their recommendation to the group.

Ø      Geno presented

§         Tartan 3000

·        Recommended no change.

·        Seconded by John.

·        The group unanimously accepted the recommendation

§         C&C 99

·        Recommended no change.

·        Seconded by Tris.

·        The group unanimously accepted the recommendation.

§         Olsen 30

·        Recommended further study.

·        Seconded by John.

·        In discussion, a rating of 105 sec/mile was brought up as a possibility.  More info will be presented at the next meeting.

·        The group unanimously accepted the recommendation.

Ø      Chris presented

§         Ericson 33

·        Recommendation to leave the rating as is.

·        Seconded by Tris.

·        The group unanimously accepted the recommendation.

§         Pearson 37

·        Recommendation to leave the rating as is.

·        Tom motioned to accepted the recommendation

·        Seconded by John.

Ø      The J-24, Wavelength 24, and Melges 24 were all tabled pending further info to make a recommendation.

Ø      J-105: We had a discussion regarding how to rate the boat and make adjustments.  The ODR rating would be used if the 87-meter spinnaker was used. The PHRF # would be used if the 110-meter spinnaker was used. Discussion of the J-105 was initiated by Gene Cloutier, who is in the process of buying one.

v     New Business

Ø      Geno asked that we take a look at the Tartan 34 and C&C 34.  He will provide information at the next meeting.

v     The next meeting will be on Thursday, January 27 at Marty’s House. 7:00 PM.
